Warning this is NOT a knock off recipe! This is the real deal. Al gave it to me years ago. Al's Steak House is in Ottawa, Canada and This Dressing made him and his Restaurant Famous and even Vegetarians go just for this salad dressing. Read more If you love garlic you will love this. Goes with any chef's salad greens and it is drop dead delicious! They sell it now in bottles. I have to admit I whipped it too much for the pic it was still good:) Plus spilled oil over my hand written cookbook. There is another story too LOL another time! Will post a better pic when I make it again:) See less

How to make it
- Beat egg well in a small bowl with a hand whip until the egg gets frothy and foamy not as hard as a meringue as I did LOL but it didn't hurt the flavour at all! It just made it thicker and creamy.
- Gradually drizzle salad oil while beating in until it resembles a light white mayonnaise like texture. Beat in garlic and dry mustard. Cover well and refrigerate immediately. It will keep for a week or more in the fridge as the vinegar stops the eggs from spoiling. Serve in a jug for pouring or a dish with a big spoon. Let people salt and pepper to their own taste.

Thank you so much for sharing. I have been going to Al's for years for their salad dressing. Now I can make it at home. This salad dressing is my all time favourite salad dressing.

Loves me some garlic. Easy to imagine all sorts of uses for this in addition to just putting in on greens. Thanks! and Thanks to AL :)
